I should mention that you don't need to go all the way to Dublin to enjoy Bloomsday and celebrate Leopold Bloom's odyssey through Dublin on June 16, 1904. The Rosenbach Museum and Library has an original manuscript of Ulysses which they read every year on this day (often over the objections and sometimes legal machinations of Stephen Joyce). The schedule of Bloomsday events starts at 12 noon today and with a (hopefully abridged) reading of Ulysses from 6 to 7. If you are a crazy Ulysses fan, go enjoy yourself.
Anyone ever actually been to a Bloomsday? Anywhere?

Not for a couple of years, because around here, if I want to celebrate Bloomsday, I've gotta put one on myself. And I think I'm still recovering from the 2004 event.
