Spring flower roundup

The bulb plants are one of the best values in gardening. Plant them once in the fall, and year after year they signal the beginning of spring. Here are some examples.

First the Crocus.

Next the Daffodils (Narcissus).

And the Tulips.

Another great idea for spring color and flowers are perennials and flowing trees. Here's a pictures of my favorite, the Canadian Redbud tree (Cercis canadensis) in full bloom.

The clematis are also blooming.

These flowers are delightful! Our spring is very much delayed this year. Oak trees are only just coming into leaf this week when normally we might see them do so in March. Global warming or something I guess. But the flowers are really giving it some. Well worth the wait.

Hey Boogie,

We're getting our at together in PA and finally doing our landscaping. I like your ideas. We are putting a walkway in first from the garage side-door to the deck. Then, we are diggin' and plantin'. I know we should have probably started sooner but procrastination is my best quality.

Love ya.
