Asian Lilies celebrate the summer to come

These Asian Lilies bloom taller and brighter each year. They help fill the gap between the mid spring flowers and the early summer.

Lovely. Unfortunately, around here we refer to those as "deer food."

We are lucky enough to not have deer in our yard, although we have every other wildlife animal that can be a nuisance to gardens (squirrels, groundhogs, raccoons). The deer must not like travelling from any fields nearby through the neighborhoods to our yard. Our yard is deceptively natural due to the creek, but we are still surrounded by developments.
