- A perfect specimen of Venus Fly Trap (Dionaea muscipula) captured up close at the Philadelphia Flower Show. I am glad these things don't get as big as Triffids, nor did the owner name it Audrey II. These were only about an inch across.The great thing about the Philadelphia Flower Show is that in the individual judging they have the archetype of that particular plant or flower that wins the competition. These plants are so perfect that God himself comes to look at them as a reference when he needs to make another one. The expertise of the owners of these plants is in stark contrast to the plant torture chamber that my house is. Plants rarely thrive or last a long time when I am responsible for them.
