Swingin' to the oldies (with the oldies)

Ladies and gentlemen, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, playing such hits as "In the Mood", "String of Pearls", and "Stardust".

We had a great time listening to this band as well as the Four Aces (Love is a Many Splendered Thing). We even got to dance - see our happy feet - as the last part of the show. It's always more fun when you can dance to the band rather than just listen. We can cut a rug with the best of them, but the other dancers, which I must say were a bit older (than dirt), were pretty cutthroat on the dancefloor.

The show was at Three Little Bakers, which is apparently a Delaware institution. The most I can say is that it is no Bimbos 365. If you want to go swing dancing in this area you take what you can get.

I was writing a post elsewhere and wanted to explain the significance of the colored twist ties on a loaf of bread, and how they tell you what day the bread was baked. I learned the connection years ago when I worked with a girl who use to …eh……get together every morning with her bread deliveryman boyfriend … IN THE TRUCK. My point was… I never looked at a loaf of Strohmann the same way again. I did a google search to figure out how to spell Strohmann and found this:

Rule 3: Never get behind a Strohmann's truck in the left lane on Ridge Pike.

That’s how I stumbled onto your blog. I like it. I’ve only read back through Zombie weekend. Just thought I’d say hey.

OH… when you talked about the DuPont’s and gunpowder??…I was sure you’d bring up the DuPont guy that shot and killed the wrestling coach? I think he shot him. Didn't he? Wasn’t that a DuPont? Seven or eight years ago? I may be misremembering.

Anyway, can’t wait to read about your apocalypse team.
Bwah. I love stuff like that.
